Insurance Reimbursement

If you purchase the inducing lactation consultation package at full price, I am able to provide lactation receipts upon request that contain diagnosis and billing codes that may be used to submit to your insurance provider.  Although consultations are purchased as a package, each consultation is submitted to insurance individually after the consultation:  $195 for the first consultation and $165 for subsequent consultations.

In that case, why not pay for each consultation as they occur?  In my experience, when clients commit to 4 consultations up front they have the best outcomes!  These are the committed clients I am looking for -- clients who are just as committed as I am to their breastfeeding/lactation experience.

Getting reimbursed for lactation consultations by out of network providers can be difficult.  Even when providers have pre-authorized lactation consultations, providers can make it difficult to impossible to receive reimbursement.  For this reason, I free or low cost resources such as my free online support group and my book Breastfeeding Without Birthing. 

You also save money by using an experienced lactation consultant:

• to suggest products that are most likely to be helpful, saving money on products that aren't needed
• to use evidence to suggest a plan to help you make the most milk, saving money on formula and added healthcare costs of not providing human milk
